From HOTEL TAVINOS Hamamatsucho to Odaiba on Yurikamome
You can reach Odaiba from Takeshiba station – the nearest station to HOTEL TAVINOS Hamamatsucho. It is directly connected to our building through a passage, that you can access by taking an elevator to the third floor. From here it will take a short ride on a Yurikamome train to reach an island.Yurikamome train is operated automatically and doesn’t have a driver, so if you have a chance we recommend to take a front seat. That way you can enjoy a spectacular panoramic view during your whole ride.
What to see
When you arrive at Odaiba, it can be overwhelming to choose what to do, as almost everything is located within the hand reach - shopping, dining, museums, you name it. So let us help you with some main attractions. The life-sized statue of Unicorn Gundam
Firstly, we recommend to visit the life-sized statue of Unicorn Gundam. It is worth visiting not only if you a fan of the famous anime series, but also if you are just genially interested in Japanese pop culture. The statue is located in front of DiverCity Tokyo Plaza, a large shopping mall in Odaiba. It undergoes several transformations throughout a day, from Unicorn Mode to Destroy Mode and vice versa. The Unicorn Mode has the Gundam with a single horn on its head and Destroy Mode separates the horn in two, reveals face and lights up panels on its body.
The Statue of Liberty
The next popular landmark is the replica of Statue of Liberty. There are actually several replicas in Japan, but this one is the most famous. And rightfully so! It has a stunning location with a view of Tokyo Bay and Rainbow Bridge in the background and just in a perfect spot to commemorate your Tokyo’ trip with a photo.Despite the statue being only 1/7th the size of the original one, it makes quite an impression up close.
Odaiba Marine Park
From the Statue of Liberty, you can take a walk down the beach at Odaiba Marine Park and enjoy the feeling of sea breeze on your skin. And if its evening, you can also see how beautifully sunset lights up the city skyline in the distance. The Rainbow Promenade
And last but not least, the iconic Rainbow Bridge connecting Odaiba to the rest of Tokyo. It usually has quite a heavy traffic and Yurikamome line also passes through it, but that’s not all to it.Rainbow Bridge also has a pedestrian pathway on its either side, or Rainbow Promenade, which is how it is officially known. It will take for about half an hour to reach the other side of Tokyo, but the view along the way will make it worth your time.
Be sure to wear something warm though, as it can be quite windy over there.
